Mrs. Lori Thompson
Greetings for the best school in Coweta County!
I am currently in my 22nd year of teaching in the Coweta County School System. I graduated from Auburn University with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I then completed my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and Instructional Technology at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Finally, I completed my Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership from Samford University.
My family is somewhat spread out. My husband and one of our two daughters live in Sharpsburg with our one dog and one cat. Our daughter, Keeley, is attending the University of Georgia. Zoey is a sophomore at East Coweta High School. Our latest family member is an 8 pound, spunky miniature dachshund named Daisy. We love spending time with family and friends. Our favorite family times are spent at beautiful Lake Harding in Alabama. My mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law and beautiful niece and wonderful nephew live in Birmingham, AL. My in-laws and all of their extended family live in Peachtree City. We love attending Southside Church Newnan and serving in the Promise Class at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
One of my greatest pleasures is coaching the Academic Bowl Team and working with our Science Olympiad Team. Both teams are highly competitive and bring home great recognition for WRES!
Mrs. LeAnne Cheatham
My name is Mrs. LeAnne Cheatham and I have been teaching here at WRES since the doors opened in 2002. I taught 2nd grade for eight years before moving to 4th grade for three years. Currently I am in my fifth year of teaching REACH. I love my position because I get to see so many great students all over WRES. Each day I get to see all grade levels during breakfast and at the end of the day with daycare riders. I am also privileged to work with our Science Olympiad and Academic Bowl Teams.
I believe that you should be learning everyday in life and I can honestly say I learn every day. I love learning so much that I am currently working on my Math Endorsement and Educational Specialist Degree at University of West Georgia.
I have a wonderful family with my husband, Bob, and our two children, Caroline and Matthew along with our dog Archie. Currently Caroline is working as an OR Nurse at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, MS. She graduated last year from the University of Mississippi better known as Ole Miss. Matthew is attending West Georgia Technical College and studying Culinary Arts. We are always happy to sample Matthew's amazing food creations. My hobbies include watching football, tailgating at Ole Miss Football games, cooking, reading, and walking.
